Kari matchett was a native of Spalding Saskatchewan. Later, she moved to Alberta Canada and completed high school. During her teenage years she became interested in acting. To receive further training in acting, she was enrolled at the 'National Theatre Academy located in Montreal as well as the 'Moscow Theatre School.' She made her television debut in 1996 as a support character in the Canadian series titled 'The Rez. The following year, she appeared in series' such as 'Forever Knight' and 'Ready or not. The actress also made her debut on film during the 1990s' final years by starring in a movie titled "Papertrail," later appearing in films like "Men with Brooms" and Cypher. Additionally, she was in supporting roles in series' including "A Nero Wolfe Mystery' and the 'Blue Murder.' Although she kept acting in movies throughout the decade of 2000, her film performances were not as numerous as her roles on television.
